The New Mexico Art Education Association (NMAEA), in conjunction with the national Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, is proud to present the annual statewide New Mexico Scholastic Art Competition. This awards program continues to be the longest-running, most prestigious recognition program for creative teens in the U.S., and the largest source of scholarships for young artists and writers.

Over 185,000 works of art and writing are annually submitted in numerous categories by teens in grades 7-12 nationwide. Each year more than 1,500 receive national awards and are celebrated on stage at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
